Things to do in Sentosa

Sentosa Map

ultimate guide to Sentosa

Sentosa is an island in Singapore, off the country’s southern coast. Sentosa island is connected to the country’s city by 4 types of transport: road, cable car, pedestrian boardwalk and monorail. By the monorail – Sentosa Station, you can visit the iconic Tiger Sky Towers and enjoy a bird eye’s view which goes as far as the Indonesia peninsula. On the south coast, the Palawan Beach is populated with food stalls, bars and has a suspension bridge to a small offshore island. Not only that, it has a sunny, relaxing and breezy Tanjong Beach for you to enjoy the serene environment there.

1. Sentosa Beaches

Singapore is one of the countries that has a small land space, thus the country faces issues such as land scarce and a dense population. To solve the issue with lack of land, Singapore is well known for building and creating many man made developments that have quickly gained popularity and usability. Don’t be surprised to realise that the skyscrapers and metropolis you see are in fact once a small jungle full of trees and unsuitable for inhabiting!

Sentosa Beach

Do you know that Singapore’s beaches are also man made? The white and golden sand makes you feel like you’re actually stepping on any other natural beach around the world. But in fact, the beach is planned and curated that the soft sand is literally imported from Singapore’s neighbourhood country, Malaysia. Sentosa island is covered with fine sand spanning about 3.2km. You can appreciate the wide array of activities such as playing volleyball, setting up a picnic or just spending your time at one of the many beach bars at Sentosa. Entry to the beaches in Sentosa is absolutely free! To get the best spots for sun tanning, you can choose Tanjong, Palawan or Siloso Beach!

2. Universal Studios Singapore (USS)

Located within Sentosa Island is Singapore’s largest theme park, Universal Studios Singapore (USS). Universal Studios Singapore is Southeast Asia’s first and only Universal Studios theme park located within Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island, Singapore. It features 28 rides, shows, and attractions in seven themed zones.

For families and kids

Your kids will be excited to catch their favourite characters up-close. Fun and interactive activities include striking a pose with Elmo, shaking hands with the cast from Madagascar or getting despicably close to the adorable Minions for the family album. Don’t forget to enjoy exciting shows and have an exhilarating time on the rides.

For Thrill-Seekers

For thrill seekers, don’t miss the world’s tallest duelling roller coasters Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON™, indoor coaster Revenge of the Mummy and TRANSFORMERS The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle.

Ticket prices might be affected by PEAK/NON- PEAK seasons!

The theme park is usually peak during Fridays, weekends and Public Holidays where most families would bring their kids out. Note that June and December are also popular months as these are the Singaporean school holidays! This means that each ride during peak period would be around 3 to 4 hours of waiting time. You can opt for the USS express pass (skip queue) for a very much more enjoyable experience during peak period!  A pro-tip would be visiting the park  during non-peak periods where ticket prices are cheaper and a shorter queue for rides!
